First National
Bank of Bancroft
Privacy Policy
At the First National Bank of Bancroft, we
value each and every customer relationship. Customers have entrusted
us not only with their finances, but also with their personal
information. To protect and maintain this relationship, we’ve
enacted a set of seven privacy principles to maintain the
confidentiality of the information they have shared with us. These
principles will be upheld for current customers and also former
customers of our Bank.
This is our policy:
1. Recognition of a Customer’s Expectation of Privacy
We recognize and respect the privacy expectations of our customers.
We will maintain standards to ensure that their information is
private and secure at all times.
2. Use, Collection and Retention of Customer Information
We will collect, retain and use information about our customers only
where the institution reasonably believes it would be useful (and
allowed by law) to administering our Bank’s business, to provide
superior service and to offer products, services and other
opportunities to our customers.
3. Maintenance of Accurate Information
We have established procedures so that a customer’s financial
information is accurate, current and complete in accordance with
reasonable commercial standards. We will also respond to requests to
correct inaccurate information in a timely manner.
4. Limiting Employee Access to Information
We will limit employee access to personally identifiable information
to those with a business reason for knowing such information. We
will also educate our employees so that they will understand the
importance of confidentiality and customer privacy. We will also
take appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce employee privacy
responsibilities.

5. Protection of Information via
Established Security Procedures
We will maintain appropriate security standards and procedures
regarding unauthorized access to customer information.
6. Restrictions on the Disclosure of Account Information
We will not reveal specific information about customer accounts or
other personally identifiable data to affiliated or unaffiliated
third parties for their independent use except for the exchange of
information with reputable information reporting agencies to
maximize the accuracy and security of such information or in the
performance of bona fide corporate due diligence, unless:
- the information is provided to help
complete a customer-initiated transaction;
- the customer requests it;
- the disclosure is required by/or
allowed by law (e.g., subpoena, investigation of fraudulent
activity, etc.)
- the customer has been informed about
the possibility of disclosure for marketing or similar purposes
through a prior communication and is given the opportunity to
decline (i.e., “opt out”).
7. Maintaining Customer Privacy in
Business Relationships with Third Parties
If personally identifiable customer information is provided to a
third party, we will insist that the third party adhere to similar
privacy principles that provide for keeping such information
confidential.
We want our customers to understand our commitment to privacy in our
use of customer information. Customers who have any questions about
these privacy principles or have a question about the privacy of
their customer information should contact us at the Bank or call us
at 402-648-3361.
